Terms of service
The terms for using ShredHub, the free tier and the Pro subscription.
This is a working draft. The final version will be reviewed by legal counsel before launch.
1. Scope
These terms apply to the use of ShredHub (the "service"), provided by [Company name — to be added]. By creating an account you accept these terms.
2. Account
You need an account for saved scan history and Pro features. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address and confirm it.
3. Plans
- Free: limited number of saved scans per month, limited file size, history retention of 7 days.
- Pro: unlimited saved scans, larger files, full history. Pro is a monthly subscription and can be canceled at any time; the plan remains active until the end of the current period.
During the current release, checkout is a demo: no payment is processed. Paid subscriptions will be introduced with a payment provider, and these terms will be updated accordingly.
4. Your content
Files are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded. You retain all rights to your files. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to process the files you use with the service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to violate laws, infringe rights of third parties, or attempt to disrupt or compromise the service (including automated attacks, scraping, or circumventing plan limits).
6. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance and security updates may cause short interruptions.
7. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to foreseeable damage. This does not affect liability under mandatory statutory provisions.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, stored scan reports and personal data are deleted.
9. Changes
We may update these terms with reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
